Do I seem obsessed with the weather? I'm pretty sure that I must do, as it seems that my infrequent blog posts recently seem to pretty much be about just that.
Anyone who has followed my blog for any length of time will know that I am most definitely not a winter person... & right now it is smack in the middle of winter.
I've found blogging a bit difficult lately as I don't feel that I have anything interesting or important to say or report.
I don't want to feel as if I'm just filling posts with inane or repetitive minutiae of my daily life & I don't want to whine on about negative stuff...who the heck would want to read any of that. But I feel I must write something.
Life isn't always sunshine & roses. We get older. Things do go wrong or don't turn out as we had hoped. Parents age & sometimes get ill....& teenagers just do things that give us more wrinkles & a couple of extra grey hairs despite our best efforts at parenting. Our plans for any given day can head out west at a moments notice & we can feel like we are constantly trying to catch up with just the basics such as housework & remembering to eat! Trying to find time to do what we want to do, or just a little time for ourselves can often seem like a mammoth task in itself.
Bugger trying to put kids into time out I'd like to put myself in time out & be left alone...about a month (somewhere tropical) should do it ;)
Yet through all of this, small things happen for which one just can't help but be grateful for! A glance around my immediate environment shows me that.
The middle of winter, only a couple of bare trees (one cunningly concealed by the evergreen natives), sunshine & a clear blue sky.
It's called finding the joy in simple things, or the beauty in what can be seen as mundane by those too blinded to look for it!!
This is what life is all about, & unless we can find the joy in the simple things how on earth can we be happy with the life we have.
