To bring beads into the post of course I just had to show this wee experiment. Although 'it' doesn't look anything like the Decorative Food Hook from the Tambanum Village that inspired it & rather more like a Maori Tiki face carving...the fact that the protruding tongue seems to indicate 'pffft - raspberries to that sentiment' seems somehow apt! ;o)

Way cool, Deb! So, is that one of the many places you've seen in person? Those baskets must be spectacular, gotta click a link in the link and see if there are photos. I think your bead captured the look. The colors seem perfect, and the sculpting on the face is like that on the basket faces-- just enough detail to get the idea across without being too busy. Gonna make more?
